Kate Winslet is setting the world straight on her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Ever since Kate and Leo played Rose and Jack in “Titanic” back in 1997, the world has wanted their on screen chemistry to become off screen as well.
According to Kate, that’s never going to happen.
In an interview with Marie Claire UK, the actress says that “I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing. It’s so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and a had a million songs, but actually we never did.”
Kate also tells the November issue of the mag that “He always saw me as on of the boys; I’ve never really been a girly-girl. We needed each other to lean on because we were very young and working all kinds of crazy bloody hours and it was a shock to the system.”
Kate, who turns 39 on October 5, says that the two won’t be celebrating the 40 year old club together. Leo, who is 39, turns 40 in November. “Isn’t that weird? He wouldn’t have a joint party with me. He really wouldn’t. Definitely not. He likes to have his moments. But also I don’t think I’d want to have a joint party with him, more to the bloody point!” she told Marie Claire UK.
Kate and Leo also starred together in the 2008 film, “Revolutionary Road.” The actress recently gave birth to her third child with husband, Ned Rocknroll, whom she married in 2012.
