Scarlett Johansson is going to be on a new TV show! The blond actress will be part of an eight episode series, based on the 1913 book, “The Custom of the Country” by Edith Wharton, according to Deadline.
ScarJo will be playing the character Undine Spragg, as well as executive produce the show. Undine is a Midwest woman who tries to climb the social ladder in New York City. The show, according to Deadline, will be adapted to television by Christopher Hampton.
This will be the first role for the actress after giving birth to her baby girl, Rose Dorothy Dauriac, with fiancee Romain Dauriac last month.
A source revealed to E! News that the duo will not be “getting married until after the baby.”
Scarlett and Romain were engaged in September 2013 and now post-baby, the next thing on their list is marriage.
The 29-year-old told The Wall Street Journal that balancing baby and work will be tough, saying that “It seems so stressful to not be able to spend time with your family because you’re constantly chasing the tail of your own success. There must exist a world in which I can balance those things, be able to raise a family and still make a film a year, or work on my own, develop things, do theater. I want to be able to have it all.”
