Just imagine. Quidditch players flying around on brooms, wizards disappearing into walls at the train station! All right in front of your eyes on stage! That’s right! Is a “Harry Potter” musical coming out?
Just when we heard that J.K. Rowling is making her screenwriting debut on a Harry Potter spinoff movie called “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them,” is she coming out with a musical?
Before you get too excited, Potterheads, Daniel Radcliffe is completely AGAINST the idea!
The 24-year-old actor has already amazed us with his stage performances in plays like “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” and he even showed off his shlong in “Equus.” But we probably can’t expect a “Harry Potter” musical any time soon.
He appeared on Bravo TV, saying that although he loves Broadway and Harry Potter, he doesn’t see the two coming together. He says, “Do I want those things to be combined though? My instinct is that I don’t.”
He continues by saying that a “radio play could work,” but he doesn’t know how it would be done as a musical.
He reveals that there was always talk about a possible musical. But because everyone would always joke about it, it’s something he would have a hard time taking seriously.
Aw, what a bummer. I was really looking forward to hearing the sorting hat sing for us live! “Oh, you may not think me pretty but don’t judge on what you see. I’ll eat myself if you can find a smarter hat than me.” Do you guys want to see an HP musical? Comment below and tweet us @PopStopTV.
