Exclusive! Skylar Grey Talks New Music & Squashes Miley Cyrus Beef

We all love Skylar Grey! The 27-year-old singer not only wrote the three versions of “Love The Way You Lie” with Alex da Kid, she was also the guest vocalist on Fort Minor’s “Where’d You Go” and Dr. Dre’s “I Need A Doctor.”

Well, now she’s out with her first major studio album, “Don’t Look Down,” and we’ve been raving about it since July 9, 2013.

Our PopStop TV News Team even caught up with the blonde beauty at Sundance Gift Suite, where she dished about her extremely successful career!

Skylar raved, “It’s been such a amazing journey. You know, I started singing when I was 6 professionally with my mom, and I’ve gone through so many ups and downs in my career. I moved to LA when I was 17, I got a record deal and I left that one then I got a new one. But the past few years leading up to this record release to where I am today has been crazy. You know, starting with working with Eminem. He’s such a huge supporter of mine, and I’m so grateful to have him in my life. He executive produced my album. And now I just have so many amazing opportunities consistently so I’m very grateful.”

She continued, “It’s just crazy to think that I have him to ask. I can ask for his opinions – what do you think of this song or this verse or whatever? Also I really trust him because he’s got amazing creativity and instincts and all that and he’s really smart and it’s amazing to have him on my team.”

Wow, Skylar is definitely a go-getter! She’s already collaborated with everyone from her childhood list, but she’s still hoping for one more with Kendrick Lamar! Let’s make that happen this year.

And last but not least, of course we’re all curious about the feud between the amazing singer and Miley Cyrus! What does Skylar have to say about that?

She dished, “Miley had a really good comeback, I’ll give her that. I have a moon man from years ago and I stuck it in my mouth like I was giving it a blowj-b… but it was a dirty joke. It’s not something I would do on stage. There’s a difference between a dirty joke and putting dirty stuff in your art.”
